Student Services Department

At Union Park Middle School, we follow the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) model to ensure that every student receives comprehensive, developmentally appropriate support. Our Student Services Team works with students individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings to address academic needs, postsecondary preparation, and social–emotional development.

Our services include:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Conflict resolution and mediation
  • Coping strategies and emotional regulation support
  • Small‑group counseling
  • Referrals for additional mental‑health services
  • Academic counseling and progress monitoring
  • Behavioral interventions and positive behavior support

We encourage families to continue visiting our website for parenting tips, middle‑school guidance, community resources, and important updates.

Staying informed empowers both you and your student—knowledge is power.

Mental Health Services at Union Park Middle School

Union Park Middle School’s Mental Health Services Team is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well‑being are prioritized. By strengthening these areas, we help students build confidence, develop resilience, and achieve greater academic success.

Our approach emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and access to a full continuum of mental health supports. Services are delivered through a Multitiered System of Supports (MTSS), allowing us to address student needs at varying levels of intensity—from schoolwide strategies to individualized support.

Collaboration is at the heart of our work. We partner closely with families, community agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure students receive comprehensive, coordinated care. Together, we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

Behavior Intervention Team

Here at Union Park Middle School, we emphasize a positive, supportive, and restorative approach to student behavior. Our goal is to build strong relationships and create a sense of belonging so that every student feels valued and connected to our school community.

We focus on teaching students how to make responsible choices, reflect on their actions, and accept accountability in a constructive way. Through restorative practices, positive reinforcement, and clear expectations, we work to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
