Academic Excellence

The Year of Evolution

It is our focus here at Union Park Middle School to prepare our students for academic success. We are intentional and strive to build academic excellence.

The learning environment will challenge the creative and analytical skills of our scholars as well as help to develop a sense of pride and commitment to our community. Our students are encouraged to become involved in our extracurricular activities to further enrich their experience and to help them become well-rounded individuals.

We are committed to building a culture of excellence rooted in Integrity, Respect, Perseverance, and Unity. We will collaborate to provide our scholars with every opportunity to become the best version of themselves as lifelong learners and productive citizens.

Our Academies

  • Career Technical Education
We offers a wide array of Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, designed to prepare students for high-skill, in-demand careers and further education. These programs are offered through various pathways through A/V Technology, Communication, Finance and Marketing. Many programs offer industry certifications, which can enhance employability.
  • Acceleration
Our acceleration track, is an advanced math pathway that allow students to progress through math courses at a faster pace than the traditional sequence, potentially enabling them to reach higher-level math classes earlier. This track is designed to cater to students who demonstrate strong mathematical abilities and a readiness to learn at an accelerated rate. The path is also parallel to our science courses.
  • Leadership
UPMS leadership classes often focus on developing students' skills in teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making through various activities and experiences. These classes aim to foster leadership qualities and prepare students for future leadership roles in high school and beyond.
